Book wise I’ve had quite a good week. No book post but I was gifted a copy of The Shadow Network, the latest Dempsey and Devlin thriller which is out on February 15th, by the lovely Tony Kent. I love this series so this really did brighten my weekend. I was also given access to Hunted by Abir Mukherjee (May 9th) by the folks at Vintage. It’s a standalone thriller and I can’t wait to tuck in as it sounds great.

Two more of my Orenda Books preorder have had official cover reveals now so I feel like it’s safe to share them here. They are The Descent by Paul. E. Hardisty (15 Feb) and Death Flight by Sarah Sultoon (01 Feb). Both sound brilliant – a prequel and a sequel. Cannot wait.

I may well have ordered a few other books during the week as well. A preorder of The Instruments of Darkness by John Connolly (07 May), a new Charlie Parker novel – yay. I also ordered a signed copy of The Christmas Appeal by Janice Hallett from Bert’s Books. I picked up my copy of The Winter Spirits short story collection, the special Waterstones edition, on Monday. I also bought You’d Look Better As A Ghost by Joanna Wallace; The Lighthouse Witches by C.J. Cooke; and The Haunting Season short story collection.

I’ll take that. Lots of distraction and lots to do over my Christmas break. Taking two whole weeks off this year. It’s going to be hell
