Author spotlight: Lisa Stanbridge

In the lead-up to ARR2024 in March 2024 we will be spotlighting the authors who will be signing. In the spotlight today we have Lisa Stanbridge . Lisa will be signing in Melbourne.
Who was the first romance author to catch your interest?
This is a tough one because I’ve read so many romance authors, but the one who really stands out is Katie Fforde. I just adore her books, and her writing style is similar to mine, too. I can thank her for helping me find my voice as a writer.
How long have you been reading romance?
I think I was about 13 when I really got into it. I used to read The Babysitters Club and I always loved the stories that had a little bit of teen romance in it. I was about 14 or 15 when I started the Sweet Dreams series and that was it. I couldn’t stop. I read other genres too, but romance will always be my favourite.
What genres do you write?
I write contemporary romance, romantic comedy and chick lit.
What is your favourite part of creating a story?
Character creation. I love imagining them and bringing them to life. They become so real to me and they tend to take over the story, which I love because then the story writes itself.
Tell us about your latest release:
Troubled in Paradise came out in July 2023 and this is book two in my Longing for Home series. It continues Jane and Jacques’ journey and while it can be read as a standalone, I do recommend that book one, Lonely in Paris , is read first.
What else are you working on at the moment?
I’ve just finished the third and final book in my Longing for Home series, Finding Our Home . This concludes Jane and Jacques’ journey and will be released in December 2023. I’m also planning my yet-to-be-named, brand new series, which I intend to release the first two books of in 2024. A writer never stops writing!
