Rewind, Recap: Weekly Update W/E 05/11/23

Well, what a wet and windy week last week was. As a result, didn’t really get up to a fat lot. To be fair, I wouldn’t have gotten up to a fat lot if it hadn’t been as work is leaving me completely shattered at the moment. It’s all I can do to stay awake long enough to eat my dinner (when I have the energy to make any), or read a couple of chapters of my books. And between reading and reviewing … well, let’s just say that I’m looking forward to taking a day off at the end of this week. No plans, just also no work so yay!

A very rare visit from my cats who slept by me whilst I was reading this week. I’m under no illusions – it’s the blanket they loved, not me!

It’s been a very lovely book week this week though so I can’t complain. Pretty quiet to start off, until Wednesday when my copy of The Christmas Appeal by Janice Hallett arrived from Bert’s Books. So happy – it’s signed and everything! – and this book really did make me titter. I absolutely have to read The Appeal soon, the only one of the author’s books I’ve yet to read believe it or not. Why start at the beginning, that’s my motto
