In the lead-up to ARR2024 in March 2024 we will be spotlighting the authors who will be signing. In the spotlight today we have Amber Jakeman . Amber will be signing in Sydney and Melbourne.
Who was the first romance author to catch your interest?
Di Morrissey, then Jojo Moyes
How long have you been reading romance?
I’ve been drawn to the romance elements of everything I’ve ever read or viewed!
What genres do you write?
My feel-good fiction, on the sweeter side, is mostly contemporary. My books increasingly include a touch of mystery.
What is your favourite part of creating a story?
I love it all—discovering new characters in fresh predicaments; the delectable and risky first kiss, charged with such promise yet so many challenges; and discovering resolutions that satisfy.
Tell us about your latest release:
Summer Beach is a love song, a beach read and a second chance, rock star and boy next door romance with a hint of mystery. Kicking off the Escape to the Coast series, Summer Beach asks ‘how can you find your way home … past a tripwire?’ Sam’s an LA computer-coding workaholic. Jake’s a reluctant rock star who denies his songwriting talent. When Sam returns to an Australian backwater to sell her family’s beach house, gruff neighbor Jake stymies her plans—then steals her heart. Beneath Sam’s house lies a tragic time bomb that will blow her world apart. With help from best friend Fliss and Jake, can Sam embrace her future—before it’s too late?
What else are you working on at the moment?
I’m editing Midnight Beach , a dual timeline double romance set in the fictitious east coast backwater of Burradeer Bay. Midnight Beach is the second novel in my Escape to the Coast series. It explores how long true love will wait.
