In the lead-up to ARR2024 in March 2024 we will be spotlighting the authors who will be signing. In the spotlight today we have Heather Boyd . Heather will be signing in Sydney.
Who was the first romance author to catch your interest?
The first romance author to catch my interest was Mary Balogh and her book Tangled . Might be time to read my copy again, too. Ooh, look. Found it!
How long have you been reading romance?
I’m not actually sure about that. It feels like I have always read romance. It’s my happy place.
What genres do you write?
I write steamy Regency historical romance—novels, novellas, and short stories.
What is your favourite part of creating a story?
Deciding what mischief and trouble I can get my characters into.
Tell us about your latest release:
My last release was this month. Unforgettable is a new regency romance short story of mine, ebook available everywhere. It’s my take on the ‘no room at the inn’ trope. Take a peek at the blurb:
No room at the inn? What about in her heart?
After her husband’s death left her a tenant in her own home, Lucy Thorne’s future was bleak. Turning neighbor Dudley Rose’s long-abandoned home into a thriving tourist destination was not her idea, but it did temporarily solve one of her problems. Yet with every year that passes without seeing Dudley again, Lucy has stubbornly clung to the hope he’d return. If he did, he would discover that he was dearly longed for.
Widower Dudley Rose has returned home after ten long years, possessing a fortune but with no one to spend it on. However, in his absence, his property has become a popular travelers’ inn and run by the very woman who drove him to leave the sleepy village. What’s more astonishing is that the unforgettable Lucy Thorne is now a widow…and even more tempting than in his dreams. Does Dudley stand a chance to win her heart, or must his love continue unrequited?
What else are you working on at the moment?
I am work-in-progress free at the moment. I’ve just wrapped up, No Ordinary Lady , book 20 in the Distinguished Rogues series and my 58th romance. I am really looking forward to a few weeks of not having a deadline, heading out into the world to see what’s changed, and catching up on my favorite streaming series ( Loki being first).
