In the lead-up to ARR2024 in March 2024 we will be spotlighting the authors who will be signing. In the spotlight today we have Danielle Hughes . Danielle will be signing in Melbourne.
Who was the first romance author to catch your interest?
Cassandra Clare
How long have you been reading romance?
Since I was a teenager and discovered YA fantasy romance.
What genres do you write?
YA fantasy
What is your favourite part of creating a story?
I love the plotting and planning of something new. But the best part is getting totally lost in a writing session in an inspirational haze where emotions are running high. If I get emotional writing the scene, I know the reader will too.
Tell us about your latest release:
The Princess and the Fawn is a YA fairytale novella. It’s the story of a brother and sister escaping their wicked stepmother. There’s corrupt power, magic, adventure and of course a dash of romance. But not everyone will find their happy ending. It was inspired by a Grimm’s brothers fairy tale.
What else are you working on at the moment?
I’m currently working on a short story to be included in an anthology next year, which is themed fairytale retellings.
