In the lead-up to ARR2024 in March 2024 we will be spotlighting the authors who will be signing. In the spotlight today we have Amber Davis . Amber will be signing in Brisbane and Melbourne.
Who was the first romance author to catch your interest?
Laurelin Paige. The Fixed on You trilogy is still one of my favourites.
How long have you been reading romance?
Over 15 years
What genres do you write?
Young adult, new adult contemporary
What is your favourite part of creating a story?
Adding real life into a story. Some of my characters have very real medical conditions and it has helped me by being able to write about some of the things we don’t generally see in books. Yasmin in Chase and the Girl Who Came Back has diabetes and hypoglycaemia. When I wrote the book, I was struggling with my own diagnosis, so being able to write about it helped me.
Tell us about your latest release:
Chad and his Not Harem is a why-choose rom com. It’s not your standard why-choose book though, as the FMC lives with three guys who love and care for her, that just aren’t able to provide everything that she needs so they advertise for a new roommate with benefits. Mady suffers from some unknown medical conditions that means that her men can be a little over protective. There are also some additional characters that add themselves into her harem in a platonic way as they all care for her.
What else are you working on at the moment?
I have two projects I’m working on at the moment. Rhys and Ally’s story—you meet them in Chase’s and Arden’s books and I know there are a lot of people that are waiting on their story. I am also plotting a story for some new characters that live next door to the original group of friends so there will be some cameo’s from my OG characters.
