Welcome back everyone. Thank you for stopping by to check out the latest TF . You can also find me here: @comic_book_true_firsts
I hope you love Wolverine because if you don’t there is nothing I can do to help you feed the addiction this week. I have spent the day filling my article with as many versions of Wolverine I could find so welcome to the Logan-Verse!
It sure seems like Marvel is setting up a Spider-Verse for Wolverine with Christos Gage’s new comic Weapon X-Men. In anticipation of such a development, this resource might be helpful. There are a ton of Wolverines from all across the multiverse and some could get quite popular, especially if Jane Howlett blows up.
This new team of Wolverines is set to face a ” multi-dimentional Onslaught .” This got me thinking about alternate reality Onslaughts and even though there have been a couple of alt-reality antagonists, the only recent character to speculate on is the unknown version shown in this book.
It remains to be seen if Marvel can harness the same magic that the Spider-Verse generated but I am excited to see what they come up with.

Weapon X-Men
First appearance of Jane Howlett
There is no way to tell if this is the next Edge of the Spider-Verse 2 but Marvel sure is gonna try with yet another Wolverine, this time using a gender swapped Howlett. I was hoping she would appear in the lead-in book but it looks like this is going to be her first.
X-Men Millennial Visions 1
First appearance of Wolverine Earth-1002, Earth-1015, Earth-1011, Earth-1005, Earth-1008 and first gender swapped Wolverine
As far as I can tell this is the first gender swapped Wolverine. You cannot confuse alternate Wolverines with a female version who is a Howlett. She is basically Wolverine but a female. Many people who are not Logan or a version of him have worn the costume.
If Marvel’s plan is indeed something similar to the Spider-Verse here are the firsts you need to know about!
What The..?! 9
First appearance of Logana from E-89923 ( Wolverina )
The unrelated parody of Wolverine from Earth 89923 was brought to my attention by @jarret.cooks and this comic was actually a fun read as a are many What The?! comics. What The?! is a lot like MAD magazine in that it may be a parody book but there are many occasions where you can find a first comic appearance that is not a parody. In this case Logana is not a Howlett so she isn’t a gender flipped James. It is an interesting character though especially if we are getting the Wolverine version of the Spider-Verse.
I am also not including other Wolverines from here on out, only variation of Logan/Howlett so Wild Thing, X-23 and others will not appear.
X-Men Alpha 1
First appearance of E-295 Weapon X
Possible one of the more popular Wolverine characters, this book had a huge print run so look for a newsstand or the gold variant.
Ultimate X-Men 1 ( Rarest Variant Shown ) DF Sketch Edition
First appearance of E-1610 Wolverine
NOTE: The James Howlett of Earth 2107 first appeared in Ultimate X-Men 75
X-Men Mangaverse 1
First appearance of Mangaverse Wolverine
Exiles 85
First appearance of Weapon X-Men ( a team of Wolverines ), First divergent Zombie Wolverine, first Snikt and a lot more.
If you are looking for the first appearance of a Multiversal Weapon X-Men team look no further. These issues also contain a huge amount of Wolverines that could eventually become quite popular, including other female Wolverines and a Wolverine/Deadpool mashup.
D
Wolverine Vol. 3 issue 66
First appearance of Old Man Logan
Old Man Logan cameos here which does predate the above issue. I like the newsstand.
Ultimate Fantastic Four 22
First appearance Zombie Wolverine
This guy is on the team and that makes this book even more desirable.
Here are a few Zombie Wolvie covers I like;
Exiles 1
First appearance of Earth-12 Wolverine
There are a lot of alt-reality Wolverines in Exiles.
Wizard Magazine 77A and B ( Sealed with Earth-X Sketchbook ) Earth-X 0 ( 2nd Print Shown ) and Earth X 1 ( First full )
With the inclusion of Earth-X Wolverine, Weapon X-Men has a pretty awesome characters on the roster. He first appeared in this 1998 sketchbook which was included with Wizard 77. He made a one panel cameo in Earth-X 0. I have included my favorite cover here but there are multiple covers and yes I know, 2nd prints are not firsts. I have also included his first full.
Wolverine Noir 1,1 Variant
First appearance
This one is now a cheap buy and one I would look at buying and holding this one especially the variant.
Exiles 33
First Earth-3470 Wolverine ( Wild Man )
Exiles 5
First Earth-901237 Wolverine
X-Men Millennial Visions 2
First appearance of Earth-1034 Wolverine
This issue has the first for what is one of my favorite suit designs by Alex Ross.
