1 Ultimate Spider-Man is AWESOME




Without giving away any spoilers, this is everything I have been wanting from a Spider-Man comic and more.  This feels like the person Peter was always destined to become and I cannot wait to read every single issue.  If you have not checked out prices on the first issue of the new  Ultimate Spider-Man …you may want to check if your LCS can get you a copy of the already announced third print .









2 CGC Reholder Scandal




I for one am absolutely shocked by this scandal.  Shocked I tell you!!  If only there had been some way to know that CGC had issues .  If only there was any indicator that something was rotten in the state of CGC’s Denmark.  Alas, there were no indicators that we should be skeptical about CGC .  Nope, not a single one .












3 Karami’s She-Hulk
For a curvaceous character that has been depicted in every possible pose by a LOT of different artists, I am not sure She-Hulk has ever looked better than she did in this recent issue of  Daredevil .  Worth the cover price for the art alone.










4 MCU Gets Its First Razzie
Look, I am not saying  Quantumania  is a good movie, but this feels a little excessive.  Are we really going to sit here and act like two-time oscar winner Michael Douglas is more deserving of a Razzie than any of the crap in  Dark World ?  Tony Stark gave an 18 year old full control over a global weapons system and this is where we are drawing the line?  Okay, MODOK looked real dumb, but still!












5 DSTLRY is the real deal
When DSTLRY was announced, the writers and artists promised us next level storytelling and art.  So far, they are batting .1000.  I hope this is what the future of comics looks like










6 Energon Universe Is Awesome
Growing up, I loved Transformers, but never really got into G.I. Joe.  If  Duke  #1 and  Cobra Commander  #1 are any indication, I hardcore missed out.  Whether its in the pages of these books, the writing and artistic synergy that is Daniel Warren Johnson’s signature in  Transformers , or the intergalactic saga in  Void Rivals , it is incredibly clear how much thought, effort, and love has been poured into Skybound’s Energon Universe.  Kirkman does it again.












7 Rob Liefeld’s Thundercats Cover
I know that art is subjective and that its not my place to yuck anyone’s yum.  If you like the art you have purchased, thats all that really matters.  That being said, if you are one of the 70,000 people who bought a Rob Liefeld Thundercats variant, you should be charged with a war crime.  If you like his art so much, just go check out a dollar bin, I always see a lot of it there.










8 How To Read A Barcode
Love to pass on knowledge that can help people learn more about comics, especially when every book now has like a million variants.












9 Jason Aaron Relaunching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Never really been a fan of TMNT, but I am going to check out at least the first few issues because Jason is writing them.
Note: The people already complaining that Jason will turn all the turtles into women, you seem super cool.










10 The First Manga Grading Service Has Arrived
This may sound ridiculous, but is it really any more insane than a grading service for VHS tapes?  They should have grading services for everything, like Blackjack and hookers .  You know what, forget the grading!

Universal Monsters: Dracula
I am far from the first person to recommend this series, but oh my god is it tremendous.  Tynion IV has slowly converted me into a much bigger fan of horror fiction and Simmonds’ art elevates the already phenomenal story to even greater heights.  I am not sure there is much spec potential, but hey, sometimes comics are meant for reading too

Kieron Gillen is one of the great modern comic writers and Stephanie Hans has an incredibly unique, evocative style.  Combine their talents and the result is a funny, smart, subversive take on Dungeons and Dragons that never fails to excite and raise the game.
