Dollar Bin Digging 1/27/24
I am taking over Dollar Bin Digging this week! On occasion I will be doing some of these articles. I have a vast number of comics I would like to make you all aware of but there isn’t always have a place in my regular article for such things. Sometimes I will repeat comics that appear in True Firsts because they qualify as dollar bin books and because of recent news or other updates.
I hope you have the diggers luck we pray for each and every time we step into the depths of the most disheveled LCS.

First Up: Marvel Free Previews 19 ( 2023 )
The days of people passing these things up are over. I have been a champion of previews for a long time. Issue 26 is picking up steam on Ebay so why not take a look at this one? Here we have the cover for Ultimate Invasion 1 well prior to issue 1’s release. If you are at the shop for 26 ya may as well scoop this one too.
Next Up: Biker Mice From Mars: Breakup of the Bro’s NN Insert
[ ]
Every time we get some news on BMFM, issue 1 spikes. I have mentioned this one over in True Firsts but you never know, this smaller sized comic predates the series and is worth checking the B section at any store.
Next Up: History of the DC Universe 2
( First Post Crisis Space Cabbie. )
Routinely appearing in some of my articles this one continues to be ignored as the first Modern Suicide Squad. Despite that shocking fact, it is also the first post Crisis appearance of Space Cabbie! Once rumored to be appearing on a Biazarro TV Show, Space Cabbie is a concept I expect DC to eventually use, especially from a guy like James Gunn.
Next Up: Lois & Clark The New Adv. of Superman
Like many prestige format comics from this era, you can find DCU UPC variants but only by flipping the book over. This means that there are far more out there than one might think because the only way to know in to take it out of the bag and check! Collectors have caught on to DCUs but most do not know about the logos on the back.
Last One: 2000 A.D. 1357
The first comic appearance of Hastur ( old gods ) comes in a strange place. Considering his use by Lovecraft, one would expect an earlier appearance but I couldn’t find one. I checked most of the comics where Hastur could have appeared earlier and came up empty.
Recent Cthulhu movie news put many Lovecraft characters on my radar and now we have what appears to be a possible connection to The King in Yellow in the new season of True Detective.
2000AD books aren’t always easy to find in the states but if your LCS has a magazine or foreign section you may as well take a look.
