Already Selling
These are books that already have multiple sales well-over the cover price or base price
Giant-Size Fantastic Four #1 1:50 Taurin Clarke Variant
There have only been a few sales of this book, but they were close to double ratio (i.e. $100). Normally, I would not include books like this here, but there are only two other copies listed on Ebay as of this writing and I doubt many shops ordered 50 copies of this book (especially since these new Giant-Size books are ripoffs at $6.99 when 50% of the book is a reprint).
Power Girl #6 1:25 Panosian Variant
Do not know why this particular cover is popping, but its nice to see art of attractive women in comics that’s actually anatomically possible
Spider-Punk: Arms Race #1 1:25 Wolf Variant
The first Spider-Punk series was a lot of fun because it just leaned into the premise, did not take itself too seriously, and had a lot of fun. I am skeptical of the long-term value of this book because any non-spider characters they introduce cannot show up in any movies (and most shows) with Spider-Punk due to Sony owning the Spidey movie rights, but maybe the Marvel Punk brand will take off in the comics. I’m not holding my breath though
Star Wars: Thrawn Alliances #2 1:25 Yu Variant
God I am getting tired of writing “1:25”. Final sale prices are erratic, but pretty much all well over ratio.
Wolverine #41 2nd Print 1:25 Capullo Variant
Several sales over-ratio, however many shops charge a huge premium for these ratio 2nd prints, so even double-ratio may not cover your initial buy-in. I do not love these ratio 2nd prints, but the red really does pop here.
Invincible Iron Man #15 1:25 Dike Ruan Variant
New Iron Man armors with unique concepts sometimes experience an initial surge in speculator interest before coming back down to earth. This book has several sales close to $50, but I do not see that holding long term.
Has Potential
These are books that are not selling out the gate, but I think could slowly rise in value
Sonic The Hedgehog: Fang The Hunter #2 1:10 Fonseca Variant
There have been a lot of sales on this book and the cover A. WAY more than I would have expected in fact. Lot of the bigger sales were a while ago though, so I am not quite ready to put this in the Already Selling section
Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora – So’Lek’s Journey #1
This is a companion series to the Avatar video game of the same name. I am intrigued because the developers outright stated that elements introduced in this video game are going to show up in the next movie . With a measly $4 buy-in, this comic has very little risk and some interesting upside.
Piquing My Interest
These are the books I find interesting as a reader or collector.
Wolverine #44
Benjamin Percy is absolutely living up to his promise of the bloodiest Wolverine story ever told. This is also the culmination of nearly 100 issues of Wolverine storytelling by Percy ( Wolverine , X-Force , X Deaths of Wolverine , X Lives of Wolverine , and Weapons Of Vengeance ) and I am really excited to see how it all comes together
Miles Morales: Spider-Man #17
Loving what Ziglar is doing with Miles. Look forward to this book every month (though I could do with fewer tie-ins). His manga inspirations with this title are very clear and really awesome
Avengers: Twilight #3
Love the artist, love the writer, love the story.
Immortal Thor #7
Al Ewing has been kicking ass on this series. If you are not reading it, you are missing out on one of Marvel’s best comics.
Invincible Iron Man #15
It was pretty smart of Marvel / Gerry Duggan to make Emma Frost a supporting character and effectively make this an X-Book. I say that because, without those two elements, I would have dropped the book a while ago. The series is not bad, its just not really remarkable outside those two elements
Duke #3
Much like DSTLRY, I am going to keep buying Energon Universe books until I stop enjoying them. Hasn’t happened yet.
Resurrection of Magneto #2 Casagrande Stormbreakers Variant
Love Elena Casagrande’s art, love Japanese, ukiyo-e style art , and I was going to be buying this book for the story anyway, so why not get the version with the cover I really like.
Dead X-Men #2
First issue was decent and seems to be connected to Rise of Powers of X . Was not really wowed though, so this may be the last issue I pick up.
Wolverine #44 1:25 Shalvey Variant
Could this be the next X-Force #48, where a great artist does a piece so terrible that it becomes desirable?
Declan, sorry for the drive-by man. I have followed your work across a bunch of different series and always enjoyed it. This one just ain’t it for me
Red Light #3
I LOVE dystopian sci-fi, especially when it ventures into examinations of human behavior. Stuff like this, Dollhouse , or the first season of Westworld is absolutely my jam.
Batman: The Brave and the Bold #10 Mattina Variant
This cover is just awesome!! Going to wait to see this book in person before committing, but wow is this cool.
Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees #1 3rd Print
I have doubted this book at every turn and been wrong at every turn. Probably too late to hop on board the train now, but I am going to try with the third print.

Carnage #15 Chris Allen Stormbreakers Variant
I really like this art. The concept of Steampunk Spidey and Doc Ock is really cool. The problem is that spider characters are a dime a dozen lately and Marvel already tried this concept with Lady Spider and not much ever came of it.
The Original X-Men #1 2nd Print Elizabeth Torque Variant
On the one hand, I love collecting 2nd prints, adore Elizabeth Torque’s style, and really like Christos Gage. On the other hand, the artist, Greg Land, is a porn-tracing plagiarist and I do not want to support him or anything he does.
