So my infamously rat-infested local supermarket was finally able to re-open today, after spending a good two and a half weeks closed.

I went in for a look this evening, having heard that they were offering chocolates earlier in the day.
I was disappointed. No chocolates. One would also expect a supermarket closed for two and a half weeks – and desperate to lure back rat-wary customers – would be offering substantial specials. But no. Apart from the three for $20 deals in the meat section… there really wasn’t much on discounted offer.
Worse, they were out of bread. My suspicion is that they hadn’t got around to putting the bread back on the shelves. No bread specials at all, which suggests that this shortage wasn’t due to a customer buying spree.
