Welcome back for this week’s edition of Dollar Bin Digging where I spotlight a few books to keep an eye out for to snag on the cheap.
Check out the video if you want to see some more books that I talked about this week that are not presented below:
As I always say, Comics should be fun; and I want to provide content that keeps this hobby the good time that it should be. Anyway, if you follow my IG , then you may have seen some of these pick-ups before as I typically share my pick-ups there when they happen. Check it out if you like seeing more books than I cover here. So, without further ado, let’s see what you should be looking out for in those bins…
First Up:
Sam Wilson: Captain America #3
This used to be a $50 raw book. Spec drove this up and down for years, and right now this is definitely on the downside of the cycle.
Look at the prices below even online, they’ve reached the point that shops probably stopped pulling this out of collections and just move it to the cheap boxes with the rest of this series.
Perhaps a trailer and more MCU appearances up the profile of this character, but for now, you can find this one for cheap again.
Next Up:
Tron #1&2
Its hard to believe that Tron wasn’t adapted until Disney moved forward with the sequel Tron Legacy. But that’s the case as in 2010, Marvel moved forward with not only an adaptation of the original movie, but a prequel 2 issue series as well.
All are worth looking for if you can find them. there is also a 2022 reprint that was given away at the El Capitan Theater as part of a D23 event. Please watch the video for more on that book.
Next Up:
Adventure of Superman #428
Bibbo has been a fun character for decades at this point. Superman’s #1 fan still has a very cheap and affordable 1st appearance.
He’s never gonna carry a series or anything like that, but its characters like Bibbo that make Metropolis feel lived in and flesh it out as more than just a location where Supes operates.
Just another fun scavenger hunt challenge suggestion for you to keep a lookout for when you are digging in those cheap boxes.
Last One:
Incredible Hulk #166
This is an older character, but these random issues find their way into those cheap bins, as no one will claim that Zzzax is a big name villain. Heck, I don’t even think he had a name when he was 1st introduced in this issue as he was just an It.
That said, a classic 20-center may not fill a lot of dollar boxes, but that doesn’t mean is not worth being aware of as you can always find books like this for cheap. Knowledge is never a bad thing.
