WEDNESDAY PULSE 04/19/23
Welcome to the Wednesday Pulse
Hello and welcome to another NCBD!
Ali
Hey everyone! I’m going on vacation for a week so might not be able to post for next week but luckily this is a short one. One compliant I have with the comic industry is there are a lot of monopolies when it comes to distribution. Lunar Distribution which is owned by DBCS has decided that despite our 6 figure yearly business that we have too many damages and no longer accept damages from us unless i don’t know there is a hole in the comic? Below is a photo of just one of the comics that were damaged in a recent shipment that they rejected. Both of these comics have heavy spine tics. Would you be okay receiving a comic in this condition? I would switch to someone else that has better shipping/customer service but sadly that isn’t an option. For now I’m switching as much of my business from Lunar as possible and no longer buying from DBCS.
Al
Lot of ratios to hunt, but not much else.
Comics Releasing On 04/19/23
Market books
Catwoman #54 1:50 Foil
Joshua Sway Swaby
AnZ Comics didn’t qualify
Ali
Really have been digging Swaby’s art as of late, DC foils are hot but think this stays around the $20 range.
AL
Sales so far $25-35.
Star Wars Yoda #6 1:25
Takashi Okazaki
AnZ Comics sold 7 copies for $50
Ali
I am a huge Okazaki fan and so happy to see all the comic work he is getting. The work he did for Afro Samurai is unmatched. Once he becomes a household name, these early comic covers will be sought out. I’d grab at ratio.
AL
Sales so far $25-50. Pretty solid Yoda.
Warlock Rebirth #1 1:100
Alex Ross Timeless
AnZ Comics sold our copy for $95
Ali
1st appearance plus alex ross, not the worst bet to be made…I’d grab at 50 or under.
AL
“First appearance of Eve Warlock.”
$60-100 so far.
She-Hulk #12 1:100
Jeehyung Lee
AnZ Comics sold our copy for $225
Ali
This is a great cover, one of my favorite She Hulk covers. I’d grab this around the $75-100 mark, this it has great long term legs.
AL
$150-200. Really like that green and white back glow. I want this as a SNAP! card. Wow. Id grab a nm+ for ratio for PC.
Wonder Woman #798 1:50
Yanick Paquette
AnZ Comics did not qualify for this incentive.
Ali
This is going to fall quickly in price like most DC ratios.
AL
Sales so far $40-50
DCeased War Of The Undead Gods #8 1:50
Sun Khamunaki
AnZ Comics sold our copies at $100
Ali
The trend continues with these 1:50s staying hot. Think this maintains around the $50 range like the other 1:50s in this series. I’d buy at $25 or under.
AL
Sales so far $50-100
Flash #797 1:50
Taurin Clarke
AnZ Comics didn’t qualify for this incentive.
Ali
Flash has been selling well with the movie coming, I wouldn’t pay more than $15 for this cover as this is a $25 book max.
AL
Sales so far $25-125

(Time of writing reference; The Ebay Pulse’s data and commentary based on ANZ’s sales are usually pulled sometime after noonish or so on Tuesday up to wed afternoon, but this can vary. I usually do this Tues evening. Sometimes I’m late night if work was busy. We are both super busy so we appreciate Y’all’s patience when we miss or are late.)
