Do Authors Need Accountability?

Authors, you need an accountability partner!

 Some athletes like to
train with other athletes.
Who else understands the lows and appreciates the
highs of a marathon runner but another runner? Same is true when one is in
college. Kids pair off with study partners. And if you are on a diet or are new
to a gym, you want a coach or workout partner to help you. Well, the same is
true for authors.

Writers need accountability partners. Yes, a lot
of writers would benefit from having another person nurture and push them to
greatness, or at least to encourage them to write and market more often and
better.

Many writers need someone to:

* Encourage and motivate them
* Teach them helpful skills
* Give constructive feedback
* Brainstorm ideas
* Share useful resources
* Give them a kick in the butt
* Model ideal behaviors
* Help you set goals and deadlines
* Demand more of you

Where will you find such a person?

Another writer. A book editor. A literary agent.
A neighbor, friend, family member, or a work
colleague. You can hire a writing coach, book marketing consultant, or a
productivity coach.
See a therapist. Just get started with someone and
see how it goes.
