Guest blogger: Darcie Morgan

In recent years I’ve really enjoyed expanding my reading habits to encompass many and varied genres. That experience has certainly coloured my writing. As Tanya Nellestein , I like to mix it up from historical to contemporary with themes rather than genres flavouring my work. For my next adventure, I decided to go really left of field. So much so, that I created a pen name to lead the charge.
Introducing Darcie Morgan!
As Darcie, I write short and steamy novellas that are SO MUCH FUN to write, and hopefully read. I’ve also stepped away from my incredibly proud, card-carrying independent author status to write for a small American publishing house, The Wild Rose Press.
I know a number of authors who write for The Wild Rose Press and I was curious about the experience, so decided to throw my hat in the ring. I’m elated to say I have five books contracted with them, with the intention of many more to come.
But let me tell you a little more about Darcie. First off, my mother is banned from reading anything I write as Darcie. Which, considering what my Vikings get up to, gives you a fairly good idea just how steamy Darcie likes it …
Darcie Morgan is consumed by two things—sex and romance. She wants them both and she wants them now. Keeping a harem of willing and adoring paramours has resulted in too many complaints from the neighbours, so Darcie has turned to capturing the hottest figments of her internal yearnings in prose.
So that’s the why; now for the what. I created a series located in the fantasy world of Anesar for the rich and the royal to star in. The Royal Redemption series centres around the royal family of Anesar, with each book focusing on one member of the extended royal family and a recognisable trope.
My royal family is completely fictitious, promise! There is the long-reigning Queen who passes away, leaving her eldest son to rule. The Queen had four children—three sons and a daughter, who have all married and had their own offspring. And no, none of this sounds even remotely familiar. I have no idea what you’re implying …
Much like a certain ‘other’ royal family, who bear no resemblance to this one, the Anesaran Royals have their fair share of tragedy, scandal and drama. They also have needs. Needs that most would prefer to keep out of the headlines. But love and lust can be two very separate beasts.
Book 1 sets the scene with the death of Queen Henrietta I and the commencement of the reign of her son, George. The new King’s first order of business is to pull into line his eldest son.
The Playboy Prince tells the tale of Prince Edgar, Eddie, who finds his playboy lifestyle threatened when he becomes the new heir to the Anersan throne. King George is insistent he marry someone of appropriate standing, namely Princess Angelique of neighbouring Taleres. Neither Eddie or Angelique are pleased about the situation, however sparks fly the moment they lay eyes on one another. But is a steamy courtship enough to make Eddie leave behind his playboy lifestyle?
This book is releasing into the world on 14 June. Pre-order your copy via this link .
Book 2 focuses on Prince Spencer, the second son of the new King of Anesar. Spencer thought he had the perfect life until his wife, Princess Eleanor, began to act as though she couldn’t stand the sight of him. Eleanor doesn’t know what’s wrong with her. Ever since the birth of her second child, nothing has felt right. And she’s pushing away the one person who has always loved her unconditionally.
Can a second honeymoon bring them back together? Find out in Second Chance for the Prince , releasing 7 August 2023.
The third book in the series features the King’s niece. Princess Evelyn doesn’t have time for love, although she wouldn’t mind scratching a certain itch. Lieutenant Colonel Maximillian Hamill appears to be the remedy she’s looking for. But Max wants more than just a physical liaison, and just as he feels he’s about to win his prize, he’s promoted and posted overseas.
Can Evie and Max surrender their egos long enough to fall in love? Find out in The Princess and the Alpha , coming out 30 August 2023.
Books four and five are currently in the editing phase, but here’s a sneak peak of what you can expect.
The Melancholy Prince : Recently divorced Prince Rupert is reunited with his high-school sweetheart, Anastacia, Duchess of Grafton, at a royal wedding. As they catch up over coffee and a romantic dinner, their feelings for each other reignite with a passion they thought long extinguished. Amidst their blossoming relationship, Rupert and Ana decide to keep their love a secret, cherishing their intimacy away from prying eyes. Rupert wants to disclose the truth to his children before anyone else. But his plans are thwarted when his manipulative ex-wife, Clarice, colludes with their children in an attempt to win him back. Loyalties are tested, but can the heart win out?
The Prince Comes Out : Prince Felix, the youngest son of King George, has always hidden his true self, relying on his best friend Lady Jacqueline for support as the only person who knows he is gay. A month-long holiday in Saint-Tropez takes an unexpected turn when Felix meets Maynard Tasse, charming and sexy as sin, who ignites feelings he has never experienced before. As Felix and Maynard embark on a whirlwind romance, they must confront the realities of their contrasting worlds. The fear of family and public judgment looms over Felix. Will they find the courage to pursue a love that transcends tradition and expectations?
There are so many more members of this family to discover and I can’t wait to write about them all. If you love a royal romance, why not dive in and download your copy of The Playboy Prince on Wednesday!
PS: if you’re wondering, the second son of the late Queen is happily married to his wife of many decades, sweats like a normal person and is without a whiff of scandal.
Yours in anticipation,
Darcie!
