What did you like about the book? There are more insects in the world than any other group of living creatures, over one million species and yet scientists know that there are more to be discovered. In this book kids can learn these fascinating facts and so much more. The first two page layout in the book gives a general overview of insects and a great place to have a conversation with readers about careers in the insect world and how they could be someone who could discover new insect species. The following double page layouts cover different types of insects, introducing bees, butterflies, earthworms, ants, cicadas, and even fleas. On the pages, readers learn about the life cycle of each insect, including their body composition, life span, diet and how long the species typically lives. The illustrations are artistic drawings of the different types of insects, including the layout of their bodies with labels.
Anything you didn’t like about it? The writing on the page was a little small for it to be a guide book for young readers. I would have preferred less words on the page in order to increase the font size.
To whom would you recommend this book? This is for every bug loving reader. It is great for children as young as 4 years old until about 8 years old.
Who should buy this book? Daycares, early learning centers and elementary schools
