Day 7 – Kerry Drewery ★★★★★
Blurb; She escaped Cell 7. But is she really free? The tense and thrilling dystopian thriller perfect for fans of DIVERGENT and THE HUNGER GAMES. Martha Honeydew has been released from the terrifying Cell 7. But despite her new freedom, the corrupt judicial system is still tracking Martha’s every move. And Isaac, her only trusted friend, is now imprisoned in the very same cells she was. Isaac saved Martha’s life, it is only right she now saves his. But with Martha still a target, her chances of saving Isaac are remote. Martha begins to question whether it is ever possible to escape government scrutiny. Will Martha and Isaac ever reunite? Will they ever live in a better world?
My Review; This was amazing. This is book two in the Cell 7 trilogy, and these are best read in order as this followed straight on from book one, which ended in a huge cliffhanger. In book two, we see all the familiar characters from book one, but the stakes are even higher this time in getting another youngster out of the cells. In the cells, you have seven days for the public to decide if you’re guilty or not guilty… If you’re found guilty, you will be put to the chair and death. Again, the main character, Martha, finds herself being set up, wanted, and tangled up with the law. A fast-paced, gripping, race against time read that will keep you hooked until the last page. Again, this book ends on a cliffhanger, and I can’t wait to see what happens in the final book Final 7. Highly recommend. It’s a brilliant YA trilogy so far. A well-deserved five stars from me.
