WEDNESDAY PULSE 04/12/23
Welcome to the Wednesday Pulse
Hello and welcome to another NCBD!
Ali
Hey y’all sorry had some technical difficulties last week but all good this week. Hope y’all are building these Ross villain sets.
AL
Howdy, there are some books to talk about.
Comics Releasing On 04/12/23
Market books
Marvels Voices Spider-Verse #1 1:50
John Giang
AnZ Comics sold our copy for $249.75. We also sold 40 copies of the non-virgin cover.
Ali
We were one of the few shows that had this comic available for presale and Mr. Giang reached out to us and promoted our listing on eBay. I met him in person at Megacon great guy and fantastic art. This book had a cover price of $9.99, not many stores were buying 50 copies to qualify for this. Scarcity, 1st app, and great art makes this a nice long term hold. If you can find a copy for ratio ($50) great, but I’d bet if you pay $100 for this you’ll make money.
AL
Giang is amazing. $100-250 and most bins are 200 on. “1ST APP SPIDER-FRIEND & RECLUSE ” seems to be helping this sell. I saw a few new toons on top of those. None I care about. The cover is everything to me and it is really good.
Batman Incorporated #7 1:25
John Timms
AnZ Comics didn’t qualify for this incentive.
Ali
This is going to be scarce, Batman Incorporated is not a great selling series, that being said it is DC and things tend to fall quickly so I would be around a $20 buy in.
AL
I’m not really sure what is going on with this $25-140 is a massive range for sold prices. “1ST DUSTY BRONCO JOKER” is what was being touted.
Multiversity Harley Screws Up The DCU #2 1:25
John McCrea
AnZ Comics didn’t qualify for this one.
Ali
People seem to like these homaged harley covers but this ends up being cover price.
AL
Round $20
Sandman Universe Nightmare Country The Glass House #1 1:100
Jenny Frison
AnZ comics sold our copy for $199.49
Ali
People are remembering the other Sandman frison cover and overpaying for this one in my opinion. The cover is not as nice as this one and I think this ends up closer to the $80-100 range, I’d pay around $50.
AL
$100-200 Frison high ratios seem to do well.
Seasons Have Teeth #1 1:25
Sebastian Fiumara
AnZ Comics didn’t qualify for this.
Ali
Never have heard of this artist but very impressed by his work, we have already presold the #2 1:25 for $50 so keep an eye out for these 1:25s.
AL
Oh wow. Reminds me of something I might fight in Valheim . Love that game. Going under ratio with bin $20.
Hallows Eve #1 1:25 2nd Ptg
Stephanie Hans
AnZ Comics sold 3 copies for $49.88
Ali
This is going to increase in value with time, no way it doesn’t. I think even if you grab this at $40 you’d make money.
AL
$50-75 and Hans fans will want this one. I would slab and hold if you find a clean deal.
Star Wars Return Of The Jedi Ewoks #1 1:100
Ryan Brown
AnZ Comics did not qualify for this comic.
Ali
This cover wasn’t as nice as the Jabba cover so I passed on ordering 100 of these and the market seems cooler on this cover. That being said, high ratio star wars aren’t as common as you think, grab this if you can for around $50.
AL
This cover is the only reason to get this book. Sales $100 to a high of $200. I think this hovers over 100 for a bit.
Star Wars High Republic #8 1:25
AnZ Comics sold our copy for $49.88
Mico Suayan
Ali
Think this ends up settling at $10-$15, if you aren’t in a hurry I’d wait for the drop.
AL
Going round ratio seems par.
Spider-Gwen Shadow Clones #1 1:25 2nd Ptg
CF Villa
AnZ Comics sold our copy at $62.38
Ali
If you can find this for around $50 I’d grab it. Low print + Gwen = Win.
AL
This is a ghost. I only see 1 sold at 62 and 1 bin for 150.
w0rldtr33 1:100 Bueno Variant
Alvaro Martinez
AnZ Comics sold our copy for $221.66
Ali
Many stores did exclusives for this cover, I wouldn’t over invest but interest is high, I’d grab around $40.
AL
Everything seem to be selling around its’ ratio. I did see one sale listed as a Cover A recalled due to the cover being “way too dark.”
That is a 0 (zero or nil) not an O. This is done in “leet speak.” L337 as some are. I see confusion in listings all over. The slash is the give away.

I like it because it is different and interesting style. I don’t think I actually like it as a cover.
