Critchlow helps with Launch

Although there are a few reviews on my author site at the moment, Heather Critchlow’s Unsolved is going to be the debut book which will be the first interview there. Although I’ve done hundreds of these on UK Crime Book Club, it’s quite nerve wracking to be undertaking this at this stage of my writing career and highlighting another debut like Heather seems to make sense. I was looking around for a debut to choose to do this and saw that Heather had been shortlisted for the McIlvanney debut prize and with the quality of the writing, I can see why.

Heather is now the latest writer to undertake the sub-genre of podcast crime writer alongside several big names. This approach allows for many different ways of looking at how a cold case can be investigated and Heather has done this in a really interesting way with the flashback approach from the point of view of the victim in one angle and the investigator in another, with an interesting backstory, too, which I thought may be continued into her second book.

This character would seem to fit well into this growing sub-genre and I’m really looking forward to talking to her about the process of writing this on the 1st of August, live on https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100094154688681
