Our Verdict: Mamushka

Kirstin: Maureen, you’ve cooked so much from this book. It looks like you’ve been having such fun with it. What’s your final verdict?



Maureen: Fried Bread Month! Let’s go!



Obviously, I loved it. (All you have to do is read any of posts and you’ll see it for yourself.) I’m sad that I had this cookbook for an entire year and it took me this long to get around to cooking from it.



The other thing I appreciated about this cookbook– and trying so many things in it– is that I realised that making bread dough is less daunting and time consuming than I think it is. If you’re using yeast, it does require forward planning. But as far as the flat breads that you stuff and fry, they couldn’t be easier. I can see them happily becoming part of our regular rotation dinners.



I’m so glad that I dusted off this cookbook and spent a month with it. It definitely was time will spent.
