Two Tribes GN – Heartdrum releases their first graphic novel, a story about being a part of two tribes. Mia is still getting used to her new life with her mom and stepfather. Their Jewish identity plays a role in her home and school now, making her feel out of place. She finds herself thinking more about her Muscogee father, who has a new family in Oklahoma. Her mother doesn’t want to talk about him, but Mia feels she is missing a part of herself with him in her life. Using the money she received from her bat mitzvah, Mia plans to take a bus to Oklahoma to visit her dad, without telling her mother. She wants to find the connection to her Muscogee side she knows is just as important as her Jewish side. This graphic novel is perfect for middle grade readers and fans of American Born Chinese.
