What did you like about the book? A dog and a cat have completely different reactions to a thunderstorm.  When the thunder starts rumbling the poor scared dog is hiding anywhere it can while the cat is having a great time playing with its toys. The comic book style illustrations, done in panels, with Black Magic Ink and FW Acrylic Ink on Saunders Waterford Cold Press Paper, with very few words are perfect for very beginning readers.  Kids will have no problem relating to the dog’s panic and the cat’s nonchalance.
Anything you did not like about the book?  No.
To whom would you recommend this book? Anyone with a dog will relate to the poor, nervous, scared dog in the story.  One of my cats is just like the dog so this fear is not regulated just to canines.
Who should buy this book? Public and K-2 libraries
Where would you shelve it? Beginning Readers
Should we (librarians) put this on the top of our “to read” piles?  No.
