It really is amazing what can happen when the order of the day is quality and not brand maintenance.
2 Hickman Working On Another Marvel Book
For the love of god, please let it be Amazing Spider-Man .
3 In Soviet Russia, Spider-Man Hunts Kraven
I assume that awful joke is how Marvel came up with the idea for their latest dumpster fire Amazing Spider-Man storyline. I really hate being so jaded about my favorite character, especially when the core idea of Peter breaking bad is actually legitimately interesting. I just do not have faith in their ability to execute whatsoever.
4 Gerry Conway
After several weeks of losing creators, its just nice to be able to report that an all-time comic great ain’t going anywhere. Way to kick cancer’s ass Gerry!
5 James Tynion IV
I have not read a lot of Tynion’s stuff, but I really appreciate what he is doing for comics. Tynion has helped push comics forward and made people remember that these stories do not just have to be about superheroes. #6 on this list is a perfect example of this point.
6 The Cull
I love me some Kelly Thompson and the first issue of her new series was phenomenal. Its giving me some incredible Stranger Things vibes, but with a much stronger horror aesthetic in mind
7 Mary Jane’s New Power Of Hip Dislocation
Based on this cover, at least, I assume that’s her new power. Still, I love MJ, Humberto Ramos, and magazine style covers , so its going in the pull!
8 The Single Dumbest Relaunch Yet
What is the point of relaunching She-Hulk to Sensational She-Hulk if you are going to just keep the exact same (phenomenal) creative team and (amazing) story? We have volumes of data to show that the new #1 trick has no consistent lasting impact after about two issues and is hitting increasingly diminishing returns . This kind of crap is killing comics and it needs to stop.
9 The Real Reason We Do Not Have Sales Charts Anymore
Basically, all the publishers say they want it, but don’t trust the other publishers to do it and all of the websites asking for it are either not trustworthy or do not want to do the work themselves.
10 Elena Casagrande
If you have not read the most recent volumes of Black Widow or Blade , you are missing out on some phenomenal art (and writing!). Elena is a master of the De Luca effect and her ability to convey motion and flow in a static visual medium is amazing.

Amazing Spider-Man Vol.2 #50
Your individual mileage may vary, but at least for me, this is the greatest single issue of a Spider-Man comic ever published.
Can Anything Cure Marvel’s Malaise?
Really great article filled with phenomenal context and rich analysis that is not always found in comics journalism.
