The latest Logan

Just over two weeks since it was published, T.M. Logan’s latest book The Mother has been a great companion to a busy but stressful week.



With trouble sleeping due to my current hip problems that have been bothering me since November, Logan’s Mónica of the Up All Night Thriller seems apt.



This book is probably the most complex book he has written so far, with a surprising solution hinted at by the host of the launch night at Waterstones, I knew I was in for an interesting ride.



When a book opens with a funeral, strangely I know I am going to enjoy it because you get introduced quickly to all the actors and are straight into the story.



With a flash back to ten years before to begin the tale, I was gratified to avoid the psychological cliché of something in the past affecting the novels arc. Because, you know right up front, you don’t get frustrated.



With the protagonist investigating with a group of different assistants this book is by far the most unique that Logan has written yet. But given how different his last two have been, I don’t know where his book in 2024 will go, although it involves an old house from the hint given at the launch.



I love the way all his books are so different from the previous ones and was really pleased for the quality of how he constructed the conclusion and how well he tied it together with the rest of the plot.



If you have not read T.M. Logan yet the great thing about his books are that they are all standalones and you can read them in whatever order, so I would highly recommend you read this one first if possible as it is his best yet.



Really looking forward to interviewing him later for my book on psychological thrillers. I knew he deserved to be included with the quality of his work but this one emphasizes my discission to ask him to be involved.



This book has been really hard to sum up the plot but just imagine what you would do as a mother to protect your kids and how far you would be willing to go.
