Such is life.
Farrah Elkins really needs this job. This is despite she has a stain on her skirt, she is getting other job rejections by the minute, and she has just hit the Tesla in the spot next door. She has been recommended for the job by Mia, her best friend, and hopes this will be the one. She needs it to move out of her parents’ home where she lives with her three children. And her divorce is new, the cheater!!
As we know, she gets the job. Griffen Industries is willing to take a chance on a woman with little experience. She has to work with Gage Griffen, the boss and CEO. Farrah does her job better than she expected even with all of the other things happening in the background. But the one thing she is adamant about is that her children come first. We do get the usual angsty teenager, the cute young child and the ‘eccentric’ child, however, they all know they are loved.
Gage Griffen is a self-made billionaire. He loves his siblings and spends time with them. It is the falling out with his father that frequently plays on his mind, but he doesn’t know how to fix it as both are too stubborn. Gage employs Farrah and finds she is a more than competent interior designer who is getting the job done on a very short timeline. It is through this he finds he is intrigued by her, and her family. There are some difficulties along the way, but these are not played out to any depth.
This is a feel-good story about divorce, blended families and finding a new love. If you are looking to find the depths of despair and angst around the divorce and children issues, you need to go elsewhere. While there would be more under normal circumstance, this story portrays how it could be (and should be) but humans aren’t built that way. I found it is just the type of story for a rainy day or a beach day.
And I really want Gage’s siblings (there are stories already published) and Mia to get a story!
